Take action and tell Congress to support the Health Equity and Accountability Act!
Chronic conditions such as Asthma crosses all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups, but it is more common among African-American, Hispanic and Native American populations, particularly those in poor urban areas. These groups have a higher rate of diagnosed asthma, increased hospitalizations and deaths. Among the reasons include:
- Access to medication and treatment;
- Poverty (low-income, substandard housing, lack of transportation);
- Environmental hazards;
- Education inequities; and
- Language and cultural differences.
This bill addresses racial and ethnic health inequities in the access and delivery of healthcare. Your voice is important; let it be heard!
