Support the Chronic Disease Flexible Coverage Act

The Chronic Disease Flexible Coverage Act would make it easier for Americans with long-term health issues, like asthma, to get the care they need sooner. Today, people with high-deductible health plans often have to pay a lot out of their own pockets before their insurance starts covering treatment.

This bill expands on a 2019 IRS rule that let some health plans pay for chronic condition care before patients reached their full deductible. After the rule was introduced, over 75% of employers adopted it to enhance healthcare benefits for their workers.

Passing this bill would make the rule permanent and help patients stay healthier, lower the need for expensive emergency care and hospital stays, and reduce the financial strain on families.
