One School One Nurse Act

Nurse in a middle school setting is taking the temperature of a student.

There are over 50 million school-age children in our country and yet nearly 60% of schools have a higher ratio of students to available nurses. School nurses are even more crucial these days because of the increase in chronic conditions like asthma and severe allergies.

The One School One Nurse Act addresses the shortage of school nurses by making grants available for recruiting, hiring, and retaining school nurses in public elementary and secondary schools.
